Monthly Muse: Laura Parsons

Muse /myo͞oz/: A person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
Photos by Reagan Rule
Laura Parsons is a natural and easy choice for our November Monthly Muse, as she has a casual and luxurious style, totally a Shannon Green vibe. Her design sensibility crosses over into her gracious everyday lifestyle, running her firm, Pure Design.
Her choices in jewelry are glamorous, usually one-of-a kind pieces leaning more classical in style.

What originally led you to Naples? How long have you lived here?

“My parents first visited Naples in 1989. They fell in love with the natural beauty, amazing weather and decided to purchase a condo. Ten years later, I decided to move here for a winter season. My plan was to learn golf, play tennis and work as an interior designer. Within two years I started a business called Pure Design. Our team creates bespoke residential interiors. So I created my dream job in my dream town. Naples is my home and I just love it here!”

What is your favorite spot/ thing to do in Naples?

I love to dine out, try new restaurants, and listen to live music. Alternatively, I love hanging out at home, outside by my pool, tending to my garden, cooking, and just relaxing with my two beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I also enjoy taking long walks on our lovely, sun-drenched beaches and getting in a good Pilates workout.

How did you discover Shannon Green?

I first became aware of Shannon Green through her ad in The Scout Guide and also by driving by her former storefront location. I didn’t get to know her until she relocated to where her boutique is now. I truly admire her keen sense of style, her easy-going nature, and her love of all things that are beautiful and well designed. Additionally, I greatly respect her as a fellow business owner. She has become a true friend.

What is your favorite part of Interior Design?

I enjoy seeing our creative concepts evolve from the drawing table to reality. Creative problem solving, it is a process, but the end result is so worth it!

FOR DAY CRUISING

Monthly Muse: Paulette Habich

Muse /myo͞oz/: A person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
Meet our April Monthly Muse, Paulette Habich, the chic and warm native Kentuckian. Everytime I see Paulette I want to know what she is wearing because of her effortless style. She always generously shares her trade secrets with her great spunk and sense of humor, what’s not to like about her?!

Favorite thing to do in Naples?

My husband, Gary and I love to boat. We love to go on weekend trips to The Keys or entertain friends and family with fun in the sun on the gulf.

Describe your style in three words.

Accessorized, chic, and edgy. I have several staples in my closet that are very versatile. Accessories make the outfit.

How did you discover Shannon Green?

I was introduced to Shannon through my good, loyal, sweet, smart, pretty, hard-working, generous, and thoughtful friend Bambi Yocum. We are all from Kentucky, so we had an instant rapport. LOL.
No Seriously…..
Our friend, Bambi Yocum introduced Shannon and I. Bambi knows I have a love for beautiful and unique jewelry. We are all three from Kentucky so it was a natural fit.”

What originally led you to Naples?

My husband Gary has been coming to Naples since the 70s. When he introduced me to this part of South West Florida, I fell in love with the beauty of Naples and knew immediately this is where Gary’s heart was, and making our home here was certain.

Favorite designer at Shannon Green?

I would have to say the Etkie Cuff’s are an absolute favorite of mine. I honestly can’t stop buying them. They can be stacked, mixed, and matched. They enhance any outfit. But I must not leave out my other obsession, The Shannon Green Candles! The aroma is so fresh and elegant. No home should be without that scent.

Monthly Muse: Jan Edwards

Muse /myo͞oz/: A person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
Meet our February Monthly Muse, Jan Edwards of Musebox Art Stuidos. Jan creates works of art through her expressive and lively canvases. She sees the world through her muses, finding their elusive creative sparks in nature, history, people, music and memories.

What originally led you to Naples?

My parents were long-time Naples residents, and I came down here every winter to visit them for many years, and always loved it. My sister also lives here full-time and her family so we are all here now.

What’s your favorite spot/thing to do in Naples?

Between all of the fabulous favorite restaurants and great shopping like Shannon’s shop, alongside the Naples Art District, I would have a hard time choosing just one thing. I’m not much of a beach person but I love the weather here! It’s better than Minnesota!

What three words describe your style?

Eclectic, colorful, and I guess I try to be unique.

How did you discover Shannon Green?

I first wandered into Shannon’s original shop when she was across from Cambier Park. I met Shannon there and never really knew her that well until she moved into her new space. It was then we got to know each other very well. She’s one of my favorite people!

What is your favorite piece/designer from SGC?

Well, I have many favorites from SGC, so it would be hard to pick just one but I think I own the most pieces of Marla Aaron. I’m kind of addicted! I love combining her things with my own special jewelry and other things that I’ve gotten at SGC. I also love Erica Molinari and Suzy Landa. I love all of their pieces, and my latest special piece from Brent Neale is also wonderful, which is my little special orange mushroom pendant!

The Court & Course Jewelry Edit

It’s game time. With summer in full swing, so is your tennis, golf & pickleball game. With “country club aesthetics” not going anywhere this season, we always think it is important to dress the part on and off the court (or course).
We have rounded up our favorite gems to pair with your closet of crisp whites, peppy pastels & vintage color-blocking stripes. Welcome to the Shannon Green Collection Court & Course Edit.
(Psst.. we think the stack below will look great with your lethal backhand… or your dry martini on the 19th hole)

The “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere” Edit

With summer in full swing, so are social gatherings at any hour of the day (or night). Whether it is eleven in the morning or seven at night colorful bejeweled accessories can elevate any outfit, no matter how casual. While you may be drawn to chunky gold chains, rainbow-hued stones, or glittering gems we have chosen the best items to grab a cocktail in, after all, it is always five o’clock somewhere.

The “In Spades” Edit

To have something “in spades” means to have it in abundance or to a large degree. The idiom wasn’t used before the 1920s, so it is said to be derived from the card game Bridge, which was popular during that time.
At Shannon Green, we love decadent jewelry and card games, so why not dress up for your next Bridge Rendez-Vous ♠️
